The first thing Emry wanted to do was explore. She headed out across the sand in her little overalls, stopping to look at things along the way. The beach was wide open, and she had no reason to hurry. Kennedy had a different view of her first ocean visit, tucked into moms arms while the waves rolled in behind them.
Emry made her way toward the water with her mom close by. Then one tiny wave came in and completely took her out. It was a quick reminder that even the small waves can mean business when you’re little, and it became part of the story of her first beach day.
Getting to photograph my nieces’ first trip to the ocean was a blast. They’re too young to remember every detail, but now they’ll have photos of the experience, mini wave and all.
